| 7/5/2012 | parent | Terrible school. It is not year round, as promised. The diet is not healthy, as my sons were ALWAYs hungry at the end of the day. The education is lacking. I pulled my boys out in the middle of the school year, put them in public school and they were behind. They were not even reading on grade level and failing in math. And, they teach hate as my sons were terrified of white people. Stay away and save your money! |
| 9/26/2011 | parent | My son has been attending Kuumba for the past three school years and it has been one of the best experiences of his young life. The school nourishes my son's young mind and body! It has truely been an experience for both of us as we both learn new things about the world around us! The teachers are great with the students and welcome you into their classrooms to see exactly what is being taught. Their open door policy is awesome! The ENTIRE staff is professional and I appreciate EVERYTHING they have done for my son as he grows into a scholar! We were on the waiting list to get him into this school and it was well worth the wait because I feel he now has a better chance at becoming a great young man! Kuumba keep up the good work! All of the staffs hard work in educating these students is greatly appreciated. |
| 3/30/2011 | parent | Kuumba is the worst school I had to every dealt with. My son 7 years old was going there I just withdrawal him from this school. I thought he was doing good, his teacher said he was very bright. That was not the case. When I got him tested at another private school, he was behind. I had to get a tutor for him. When I started questioning him about the school he told me that the teachers and principal there scares him, and they threaten to hurt him if he told me anything bad about the school. I also found out what they was feeding the children, two cucumber, and two tomatoes. I was wondering why he was so hungry when we got home. I was so disappointed, this is the worst school my child ever attended. When I question the school they seemed not to care they blamed my child as being the problem . |

| 12/4/2006 | parent | My 3 children attend Kuumba. They are ages 3, 5 & 7. We all love this school. My children are teaching me spanish and english. I recommend this school for families that not only want their children to learn world history but also black history. |
