| 4/22/2011 | parent | Timber Creek is a great high school! We relocated to FL from another state - my children were coming from one of the top school districts in the country, so I was worried that the school would not be challenging enough. Glad to see that I was VERY wrong! timber Creek has a fabulous staff, and challenging curriculum and an excellent athletics program. You can register your teens at this school with confidence, knowing they will be in excellent hands! |
| 9/28/2010 | parent | This is a wonderful school, great principal and staff, excellent curriculum and wonderful activities. My child is a Senior, we'll miss this school sooooo much. |
| 12/17/2009 | parent | My family moved here from New England. We searched all of the high schools in the Orlando area and we found that TCHS is the best school. They involve their students and the facultyis superior. My son is a senior this year and he already says how much he'll miss TCHS. The absolute best... |
| 10/4/2009 | parent | It has great classes, academics and sports and there's something for everyone |
| 10/2/2009 | student | I used to attend to CHS during my freshman and sophmore year. I thought it was ok, but once I entered TCHS I noticed how different and nice was everyone, especially Mr. Wright. He is the best principal I've ever had. If you have a problem, you can talk to him. What I like most about TCHS is that even though there's an economy problem we still have good elective classes as well as required classes in order to graduate. Every administrator is willing to help you on anything you need. I feel that TCHS is part of my family :D |
| 9/3/2009 | parent | My children entered Timber Creek this year, their first time in public school. So far the honors classes they are in are comparable to the ones in good private schools and classrooms are well-controlled and orderly. Teachers are top-notch. We were pleasantly surprised by the great administration and excellent organization. This is a great high school, and parents considering moving their kids from private school to Timber Creek should feel absolutely comfortable in doing so. Every staff member has been professional and helpful and truly care about the parents and students. |
| 8/19/2009 | parent | Timber creek is such a great school, their teaching programs are Excellent! : ) |
| 4/3/2009 | parent | I think the administration is top notch and can't believe how 'on top of everything' they are with as many students as they have in attendance. The caring, trusting staff is exemplary and I'm glad my daughter is an AP student at TCHS. Kudos to the arts department as well for a spectacular performance of 'Little Shop Of Horrors!' The props and acting and music and singing was amazing! Very Professional!Well done! :) |
| 3/17/2009 | parent | I am a parent of TCHS. I had lived in east Orland all my life and had seen how this calm community evolved into a crowded place. The school is not the excepted. The new ninth grade center is overcrowded; doesn't have a former cafeteria (a lunch bus stands at the side of the small entrance called 'lobby'). Freshmans had to cross the street to go to the main campus. There are not enough admnistrators to handle the demands of this population. The environment is completely different in the main campus. You can see the difference from the amount of staff per student and the quality and security. Teachers are concern overall but you have to be in contact constantly to assure your kids are been well serve. I am a teacher and a school coordinator in charter schools. The level of education is excellent in the honor classes. |
| 2/11/2009 | parent | I am from out of state and my daughter who has challengers has excelled. I am totally amazed at the level of attention I receive. Each and every time my daughter has a problem, the school handles it promptly. Great job to all at TCHS. |
| 8/19/2008 | parent | Overall, this is an excellent school. It has some very good programs to help the students manage their education proactively. The AP program is excellent! |
| 6/27/2008 | student | An amazing school with teachers who really care more about the eduction and understand that it's the quality not just the quanity of staudents' education that matters. |
| 5/28/2008 | parent | TCHS is a great school with lots of offerings, a great teacher who really loves his job, excellent teachers and fantastic extracurriculars. I'm still marveled how the manage this school so well with almost 4500 students. Kudos! |
| 2/24/2008 | parent | This is the second OCPS High School my daughter has attended. I thnk the teachers and staff here are amazing. For being so overcrowded they seem to make time to address every student's and parent's concerns and needs. I cannot say enough great things about the admin. |
| 11/9/2007 | parent | nice school, good location. |
| 8/4/2007 | student | Timber Creek High School has a good clean environment, a beautiful campus, feels safe, and is a pleasure to spend my day at, but I disagree with some of the material taught. -Thats more of a county issue though. I love the variety of activities offered, and i am currently part of the cross country team and the timber creek regiment. |
| 4/4/2007 | student | Teachers can be understanding, although some can not. There are tons of kids here, although I never feel out of place, as a Junior here at TCHS, I think it's overall a good school. There are fights here, but what high school doesn't have fights? And there are also some racist remarks made. But then again, which high school doesn't? Although most kids are accepting of race, religion etc, there are still those exceptions. If I was a parent I would definately send my child here. Mr. Wright is pretty involved in the school, I disagree with those people who think he doesn't participate in school functions, although I think that he could actually show up to things instead of just supporting them over the Wolftv announcements. C'mon Mr. Wright, show up. |
| 1/3/2007 | former student | Timber creek high school, is what I think to be an excellent school! I was in afjrotc there and I must say that, the students are good, the teachers are good and well really the overall environment was good.. I must now suffer because I go to West Orange high and Now I want to quit... But TCHS is an Excellent school in a great housing area. Avalon is very sophisticated and very up to everything.... So that is my view on that... Plus a shout out to Sgt. Hernandez, Best Teach ever. Jessica Wishon ( former student ) |
| 12/6/2006 | former student | I graduated from TC IN 2004 and I am now in the United States Marine Corps. I couldn't have gone to a better school. My teachers and the rest of the staff at TC were always supportive and helpful. The academics there are great and they have an incredible variety of different courses. I played different sports there and the coaches were outstanding. I was also in FFA. The level of parent involvement was a constant thing. I know a lot of families with kids that went to TC and they were always at the school and involved in what their kids were doing. Our principle is very supportive of his students and I don't think anyone could do a better job than him. Go Wolves! |
| 11/5/2006 | student | i am a sophomore at TCHS right now. its average and its way over crowded. next year im moving to spruce creek because this school is too crowded. random fights also happen because kids run into each other in the hallways. but overall its pretty good. |
| 10/4/2006 | former student | I graduated from Timber Creek this past year. I am living proof that the school is amazing! The parents all have their opinions, but they did not attend the school. They are all biased towards their childrens opinions. There is a different group/organization for everyone in the school whether it be the regiment, the fashion club, or gnip gnop (ping pong club). Bullying at this school is almost non-exsistant. Timber Creek was the best four years of my life. Im not even going to lie to you. Yes, its over crowded... but the teachers are amazing and genuinly care about each of their students and you wont find another principal more devoted to his school than Mr. Wright. Go Wolves! |
| 6/15/2006 | parent | My Daughters attend Timber Creek and are very happy there. |
| 6/14/2006 | teacher | Timber Creek is an average school. Parent involvement is sketchy, at best, unless you look into sports or band. As far as involvement in their children's classrooms, it is almost nonexistent. While their accademic programs are acceptable, there is very little discipline at this school. Unfortunately, many teachers are hampered by the bad behavior in their classrooms and spend the vast majority of their time trying to control it. As a parent, you would absolutely have to keep on top of your child to ensure they get a quality education at Timber Creek. |
| 5/25/2006 | parent | My son just graduated from TCHS and I could not be prouder. TCHS has a wonderful environment for our young people to grow and learn. The Principal, staff and teachers make up a great TCHS family---He was a 3 varsity sport a year kid (never dull) He was in the APC program, it was challenging and very rewarding for him. Ms. Eskin is the best!!!! My suggestion to parents is to get to know the staff, take advantage of the schools resources (my favorite was the K12 Planet) and volunteer! GO TCHS! |
| 5/24/2006 | parent | This school is not a good school for your child. TCHS is overcrouded, Violent, and a breading groung for drug dealers. |
| 11/1/2005 | student | I actually was a student at Timber Creek and it is a really nice school and the food was really good. It was very clean and it had a very college campus feel to it. Very different compared to the New York school I am in now. |
| 10/7/2005 | former student | Very nice area and environment. |
| 8/19/2005 | parent | My daughter is a Junior at Timber Creek High. We moved from Brevard County which has an awesome school system and we were a little on edge about Orange County schools because of the high diversity and the education she may recieve but needless to say we are very pleased with Timber Creek. We think our daughter is getting the education she needs to prepare her for college. We would recomment Timber Creek to any one who has a high school student it is an awesome, clean, friendly, safe, eager to teach and even learn school I rate the school a perfect '10'. |
| 8/19/2005 | parent | My Child is starting her second year here. I really like the school and the courses offered for AP and Honors. Most of her teachers and coaches have been terrific. The only negatives I can say are that the school is overcrowded with portables taking over and the communication between parent and school could be better. They have had classes already for 2 weeks and I have yet to receive any notes about the upcoming school year, parent nights etc. I have to say that even with overcrowding, they are doing their best to make it feel like a smaller learning community. Go Wolves! |
| 8/11/2005 | former student | It'a very good school, the students and teachers,and acidmeics. |
| 7/15/2005 | student | The academic programs of this school are exellent at Timber Creek. The students have many choices in what they involve themselves in, from art to taking up a sport. |
| 5/24/2005 | parent | This school is has a very nice set up and campus. However, things are not as the school appears to be. The teachers are very young are not that experienced. The students get away with a lot of disciplinary issues, which I'm sure the students are happy about however I as the parents am not. You are called sometimes when problems occur like if your child has missed 3 or more classes during that day. But for bigger things if the student is 'let off the hook' you still are not notified. Sometimes it can go the opposite way when administrators can target students and be too harsh w/ punishment. Also there is not much diversity seeing as it is mostly white. But the school is all in all and safe environment and a good place to learn as any school is. |
| 5/10/2005 | parent | great school clean and well taken care of students are respectful and so is staff. Although the admin. lacks so of these features i think they aree working on it. |
| 3/31/2005 | parent | As a parent of a recent graduate of TCHS I wanted to express my thanks to the wonderful group of teachers, coaches & administrators. Timber Creek has a great reputation for allowing students to make the school their 'own' and take pride in everything they do. The students have made great traditions that I hope will continue for years to come. The class of 2004 opened TCHS with great expectations- they were not disappointed! Congrats on a job well done! |
| 1/17/2005 | parent | At times, I don't think the principal knows what goes on at the school. Most of the guidance department is great. Guidance counselors need to make sure that they take notes when having conferences with kids so they (GC's) don't look like idiots when the kids come back for a follow-up. |
| 1/8/2004 | parent | Timber Creek HS has a very positive atmosphere. Special needs students can get the help they need from a caring staff, as well as excellent exceptional education support teachers. |
| 8/19/2003 | parent | This school is superb. The environment is safe, productive, and fair. My child loves the band program, as well as other clubs offered. There are a wide variety of AP classes that help to challange the kids, and get them ready for college. It is a clean campus and fitted with the latest technology. The principal is very supportive and involved in the students lives. He promotes non violence and high standards for the kids to live up to. We as parents couldn't be happier. |
| 8/10/2003 | other | Im a student at TCHS, the school is kept pretty clean, but the some of the teachers do not put in enough effort to help some of the kids. The technology is up to date and all of the sports accept football are successfull. There are a lot of good teachers at the school, i find it mostly with the women, almost all of my female teachers had no sence of humor and they thought they were always right no matter what, but the male teachers were a lot more understanding. Timber Creek is a good school for the average person. |
| 8/9/2003 | parent | This is a brand new high school. With very high tec class roomsIt is one of the best's public high schools in orange county in orlando. We moved to this area just b/c of this school and the are.We had been in oseola county kissimmee are.We stayed in kissimme for 2 months and had to move. The schools where terrible. It was causing my children to be ill. They never felt safe. The teachers in the high schools had no controll over classes and just didnt care any more. The children in those schools their parent's just dropped them off for day care..It was a horrible expericance in kissimmee,Now we are in Timber creek.I am so happy we are.I couldnt be more pleased with the school ,the teacher's and the area,,, |
| 7/13/2003 | parent | Timber Creek is an excellent school. My daughter is an upcoming sophomore and she loves her school. The Choir Department is an asset to the school. The teachers truly care and bond with the students. As was stated by another parent, the teachers at TCHS teach our children not the FCAT. I would dnot want my child to attend any other high school in Orange County. |
| 6/23/2003 | | Timber Creek is the best school my chiled has gone to. I now have another one coming in as a freshmen! Go Regiment! |
| 4/17/2003 | | If I could recommend any school for parents, I would recommend Timber Creek. It is a great school where the teachers focus on the students and teach the curriculum, not the FCAT! |
