|2/6/2006||parent||2005-2006 is our first year here, and I have been very impressed by Mr. Dirks' involvement thus far and his very clear and consistent communication of his vision for the school. My 2 sons' teachers have far surpassed my expectations, and I feel the boys are getting a sound education. My only concern is the lack of parental involvement. PTO meetings are sparsely attended, and the few PTO activities I have attended have had only PTO officers participating. At our previous (parochial) school, parents were required to earn a certain amount of 'participation points', which resulted in more parental involvement - probably not a workable solution for this school, but I think something should be done to boost parental involvement. Without it, our kids are missing out on a key component of the school-home partnership.
