| 4/23/2012 | parent | I really can't say enough good things about this school! I wish this school would be recognized as a leadership school so that it could teach other schools how they're supposed to be. I've had two kids go to this school. My son has a serious learning and motor coordination disability that makes it difficult for him to interact with other kids. The teachers have not only helped accomodate him but they have been proactive in spreading information about his disability to others and went so far as to educate themselves about his disability. They all know my son by name and we never go to a school function that he doesn't run up to the principal and give him a big hug. This school should be commended for their exemplary performance. When they say they have a zero tolerance for bullying they mean it. The few times my son was bullied, the administration was quick to resolve the matter and called me to report what was done about it the same day. My son loves this school and I wish he could continue to go to Galm throughout the rest of his school years. The special education teachers are priceless as is his homeroom teacher. They have provided an environment that he has thrived in! |
| 5/21/2011 | other | I went to this school from kinder all the way until 5th grade. It was actually a pretty good school. I jusy didnt care for the councelor much, she wasnt that nice. Other than that, I liked going here! Even though it is a Pretty old building. |
| 10/21/2009 | parent | The teachers and staff work really hard to include families and to provide a diverse learning experience for the students. Our son is crazy about his kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Balzen. |
| 10/21/2009 | other | The kindergarten teacher is very creative! |
| 2/4/2009 | parent | We have lived in this neighborhood for 5 years and this is my sons' last year here before moving onto middle school. The school is amazing. their special needs department are wonderful, caring and willing to help work with you to help your child acheive as much as they can. My daughter has 3 more years left here and she loves school! I will be so sorry to move my son onto middle school, i just wish i could take is teachers with him, or better still leave him there! He loves this school. The school has a zero tollerence to bullying and most of the children have been so great to my son and accepted him as a regular child. those children who sort to make fun of him were dealt with by the teachers and principle and it stopped. |
| 1/17/2009 | parent | Due to our school being capped, we were sent over to Galm. It was a blessing in disguise. The administration is wonderful, supportive and seem to have a sincere interest in the children. The environment is totally different from the other neighborhood school. My child is happy and this is what is important in a learning environment. |
| 6/19/2006 | parent | The quality of academic programs at Galm is well above average. There were many extracurricular activites to participate in including a fabulous talent show that all 3 of my kids had fun participating in. The level of parental involvement was above average. |
| 3/17/2006 | parent | Very loving, caring staff that goes out of their way to make sure students are successful. High rate of parental involvement. An excellent school. |
| 11/2/2005 | parent | Galm Elementary is a wonderful school. The teachers are very committed to helping our children and making sure that learning is goal number one. There are so many programs that help all children of various learning disablities and parents whose children are having trouble. The principle is a caring person who truly loves each and every one of her students. I am very pleased with the education both my children recived during their time at Galm. |
| 11/1/2005 | parent | I've had three years experience with their mentoring program and it seems to be a terrific school. |
