6/23/2010otherive been going to this school since kindergarten. it is very interesting for me because we had all these field trips. i graduated kindergarten in 2002. being at this school was the best thing that ever happened to me. by the time my classmates and i graduated kindergarten, we were never allowed to take anymore naps. years went by, and i beame an eighth grader. we did a lot of fun activites together and it was a really good experience. i graduated 8th grade on May 29, 2010. i will never forget this school and all of the teachers that work here.
9/28/2009studenti love this school. ive been here since i was in K3 all the teachers are nice and are awesome at there job i cant pick my favoritte teacher because there all great!
9/2/2009parentI graduated from St.philip of Jesus years ago and my brother and sister now attend this school.I love this school because it is very family oriented and everyone knows everyone. There is plenty of respect and the teachers are always there to accomodate you and your child/children. There are no words to describe how great this school is academically and in general. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Aguallo because she didn't make learning boring. She always acted out whatever we were learning about and made it into something fun. There was never a boring time with her. She is the one teacher that made me excel academically.
10/13/2008parentI love the fact that when I drop off my children early in the morning I do not feel that they will be lost, it is a close community and well balance school. Before I enrolled my children I looked around and checked for pricing, education, and how close they were with each other.
5/22/2008studenti love this school so much. the teachers are great. I have so many friends and everybody is really nice. It is so sad though when the 8th graders leave because you get so close to them as friends. It makes me cry when they leave because some of them are your best friends.
5/18/2008studentthis is a wonderful school im glad that my parents chose this school for me and i hope to send my children to this school as well. exactly! to the comment about Catholic schools are not state funded, the catholic schools work hard to earn money to keep the schools safe they try their best to earn more money with out the hassle or raising the prices.
4/18/2008teacherThis school is excellent! I love, love, love my job. The principal is respectful, encouraging, and caring towards parents, teachers and students! This school provides a good Catholic Education without filtering out academics. The children are allowed to be children but still learn the importance of respect and responsibility. As for the comment about being money driven, Catholic schools are not state funded and rely on outside resources for help to provide the best educational and extracurricular activities for the students. The parent involvement is wonderful. I'm glad I am able to teach in a school that does not deter parent involvement! Parents are allowed to be involved in their child's education. Hooray! I have never been so happy teaching. My daughter will definitely be attending this school next year!
2/25/2008parentWe are new to the private school system. When I considered registering our child, the staff emphasized Jesse James Leija s children attended this school. What a ploy to get parents to sign up. Unfortunately, the decision to send my child to St. Philip of Jesus has been one of regret. Children s importance is based on the amount of contributions given, time spent volunteering, or popularity (I m sure Jesse James did not have to wait days to receive a call from the teacher requesting a conference). Aside from experiencing discriminatory treatment, it seems every month parents have to donate money, contribute items, or sell tickets. This school is money driven! Unless you are an alumni, rich, famous, or have plenty of your time to contribute, prayer will definitely be needed to get you through the school year.
8/16/2007studentI love this school! i've been going to this school since the secong grade and i've loved it so much the teachers are great. i love all the activities that we have. i loved our old principle Sr. Celly Ann im sad she left but also happy that we have a new member of our family mrs. luna our new principle! this is my 8th grade year and i cant wait but im going to leave many joyful memories behind
7/10/2007parentI totally agree with the parents and student about this school. I have three children and my first two have graduated from St. Philip of Jesus and my son is going to be in sixth grade. They have all flourished at this school. It's one big happy family. I myself attended St. Philip of Jesus school and was proud to send my children there. Alot of alumni send their children here because of the family atmosphere and the spirituality. They care about the children and make them feel good about themselves.
4/4/2007parentI think the teachers are excellent and they help the kids learn. All the kids look out for each other and become good friends. I love that the children all get involved in the weekly mass.
3/15/2007former studentI was a student at this school almost 3 years ago. It was horrible! The teachers didn't care about the students and the students were always acting up. It may look good on the outside but it's horrible for the students.
1/31/2007studentim not a parent at this school but im a student , and this a really good school the teachers are great here and i ve been here sinces k-4 and my favorite teacher are mrs. jaurez and mrs. ortiz. our principle is great and funny. every year we have catholic schools week and we celebrate our catholic religion . i am in every sport every year and it is great. i really like this school alot and wish i could stay there for ever. our preist is very good and i trust him in confession because it is very confortable . my school is great and you make friend easily . everyone there is really nice ana they really comfort you alot . tey make you feel at home but learning . i really really really recomend to go to that school and learn the good catholic religion .
11/21/2006parentThis is my son's first year at St. Philips Of Jesus, and he has flourished at this school. He is participating in plays, choir, and sports. He went to public school last year and his teachers there did not allow him to excel, here his teacher encourages it.
8/3/2006staffWe grow in faith in all we do. We are here to encouragement and build confidence in your children. If you need a helping hand we are here our staff is always around. Our school doesn't exist on certain hours you can always find someone around. Our staff is here very early and very late to accommodate you all you have to do is ask. Our staff and teachers are a very close family and your families are the extending family we welcome.
10/19/2005parentSt Philip of Jesus provides the very best well rounded catholic eduaction. Under the leadership of Sr. CellyAnn,our principal, there is a strong sense of religous and academic discipline. My three sons enjoy going to school. They love their teachers and classmates. There are numerous extracurricular activities (choir, music ministry, speech, sports, drama, cheerleading, etc). We have a very involved parent base. The children feel a sense of ownership and pride in their school. We welcome those interested to come take a tour or call the office for the schedule of our upcoming Christmas program. It is truely amazing to see how all these children shine!
