| 4/16/2008 | parent | After reading last year's review's & rating I was very reluctant to place my child in this school. Also, our family does not come from a Latino background & I wasn't sure how well my child would adjust. So, far my child absolutely loves her Teacher, School & Friends. She has learned so much, including some Spanish! The school seems to care about the students safety & encourages parental invovlement. Things are going smooth so far! |
| 9/6/2007 | parent | My daughter enjoys going to sun valley she has learned so much the teachers are great and nice. She has even learned how to speak some Spanish. |
| 4/30/2007 | parent | Very disapointed with this school system. My son has been harrassed by a boy with a history of bulling other children. This school needs more supervision or better discipline. |
| 3/1/2006 | parent | I have been a parent for two students at Sun Valley Elementary since it was built in the summer of 2005. Since then I have had the opportunity to meet the teachers and go on a field trip. The curriculum is sufficient, but there are budget issues that come to mind. One particular teacher informed us that due to a low supply of paper, homework was very limited and handouts were very limited as well. In addition to budget issues, there seems to be a problem with organizing events. During one week, we had to go to a school function, open house, and some other event that we could not attend. Instead of having all three concurrently, we were subject to three seperate after school events in the same week. Discipline and academics have not been a problem and bus routes are prompt and lenient. |
| 7/11/2005 | parent | I had doubts about my children attending school in a big town(i am orginally from a small town south of san antonio). My children have attended sun valley for only 2 years and they seem to have adjusted just fine. The teachers and the pricipals seem to really care about the children that attend this school. They also care about the children succeeding and are willing to work with the parents in all areas, they encourage parents to be involved. I think it lets them know that the parents really do care about their child and their education . Everybody seems very nice even the parents, they also (parents) make a point to involve other parents to participate in school events. Over all the whole school district is worth acknowledging. It gets a 10 in my book. |
