It's a town with great potential if the county would get after the people who abandon, and trash their properties. It isn't a good place for children because there isn't a lot to do, but retirees will be able to make a nice home for themselves with a little research. Mountains, and clean air are benefits for nature lovers, and the stars shine beautifully. The residents are a mixed lot, but generally friendly, and not out to cause trouble. I own a house in DS and it is a near perfect place to live. It is cheap, it is quiet and it is close to Las Vegas. It's not hot, as we are high above the AZ cities. There is very little crime. If we had a bus that commuted over the canyon, it would be perfect. We are getting a bridge over the canyon to Las Vegas and I imagine that in the next year we will be besidged by specuators even in this economy. Residents look here. It is divine!
