Locked in when the rest of the world is having fun - 7/15/2008
Unless you have scales, you can only be outside in water from May-October else we are baking. Every city had a "lock in season" but being locked in while other cities are enjoying life is different. We get out when others are doing holidays and baking in the house. Guess each person has to choose which is for them. The plus is we do not have to shovel snow to get to the pool or

Snobsdale, anyone? - 6/16/2008
Okay, sure, there are a lot of people with money here. They flaunt it or snub those who are seemingly without it. So, get over it. If you're confident in who you are, should this bother you? And while I couldn't afford to live here, working here is awesome. I live north of here in Phoenix. I must say, leaving some of the dirtier parts of the city to work in the clean and pristine Scottsdale location is a nice respite. The city has great shopping and eateries, too. And actually, I've never been snubbed by anyone who lives here. I think it's the perception that one might have because they aren't wearing Manolo Blaniks or carrying a Kate Spade original (people watching is fun). NY, LA...those places, too, have their rich, but parts of those cities are extremely fun to visit, and so is Scottsdale, even if it's visiting from your home only 5 miles away. As for the heat, however, it sucks. The entire southwest is just damn hot! There is nothing to do in the summer here (same as Tucson,

Scottsdale is overrated - 10/17/2007
Scottsdale is not that great! It's getting very exspensive and people here act like they live in LA, and it's nothing like it. There is nothing to do here, but go shopping in one of our many chain stores. If you like the outdoors you can do stuff in the winter. In the summer it is way to hot to even go out of your house. The people here are very rude and act like they are millionaires, but most people I have met live on credit. Traffic is getting worse and worse everyday. If you want diversity and culture Scottsdale is not for you.
There are some good things about Scottsdale. The weather is very nice 6 months out of the year. Taxes are low, but that's going to change soon because property tax is ketching up with housing boom. Third there is alot of
