Things to Do in HotSprings - 4/10/2015
I have lived here for several years. It has a lot of touristy things to do.But as far as living here there is not enough weekly activities to do or places to go. They have Oaklawn which only has live racing a few months out of the year, but if you like that kind of stuff you will like Oaklawn. There is a nice lake here for boating but the swimming area leaves alot to be desired. Then of course they have the famous bath houses and Hot Springs. Overall it is a nice place to visit, But unless you are wanting to retire I wouldn't move here.

Beautiful Piece of History - 4/3/2014
Hot Springs, which obviously gets it's name from the springs discovered by DeSoto and the Indians is a beautiful piece of history. In it's heyday it was frequented by actors, gangsters, sports legends, presidents & many more, who reveled in it's "healing waters" and beauty. Today, people continue to enjoy it's three beautiful lakes, mountains, museums, thermal baths & massages. It has a multitude of nightlife, fine restaurants, casino, live horse racing as well as simulcasting. If you are not interested in the nightlife you can enjoy the many parks, camping areas in and around the lakes and mountains, downtown shops or the beautiful gardens. A little something for everyone!

Lake Hamilton School District Pearcy, AR - 2/6/2013
My grandmother was in the first graduating class of Lake Hamilton. All of my aunts and uncles, as well as my parents, attended LH. My siblings and I, along with our children attended LH, and it is coming time for my grandchildren to enroll in school. I own a very large amount of property near the school that has been passed down thru generations of my family for over 150 years.
The reason I am supplying the above information is because I want to make it very clear that I have deep roots in Pearcy, AR. I have a long history with Lake Hamilton School District. I feel it is extremely important to share this information with you so that you will understand how serious my review is when I say that MY grandchildren, and their children, will NEVER step foot inside any Lake Hamilton School District Classroom. I am actually putting my family land on the market because I am so tired of the lies and political BS that goes with living in this area.

Living in Hot Springs, AR - 5/29/2011
I lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas for 21 years from 1989 ti 2010. I had to leave in 2010 due to a company transfer. I had lived in Hot Springs twice as a child. Once in the mid 1950's and again in the early 1960's.
I loved it there every time. My wife and I enjoy owning and riding horses and motorcycles. The Hot Springs area has some of the best roads for sight seeing whether motorcycle or car that you will find. There are horse trails in abundance with overnight horse camping in many locations around the state. I could leave Hot Springs on my Harley and be in the twisties and mountains in just a few miles. There are lots of nice lakes in the area, and some are huge. Fishing and water sports, and camping are a big plus.
My wife developed many medical problems the last six years we were there. We were very happy with the medical treatment we recieved from the Hospitals and the abilities of the doctors. Compared to most towns of that size Hot Springs has an

This is one hateful, vile and crooked town. Beware and stay far away. They do not seam to care about stun gunning people who do not have kids, for blacks whose children skip school, especially if your white. It seams here in dog patch telephone number makes you a parent not DNA. They like to tax people for property that they do not have as a favorite past time. If you are a crook then this is your town. Hot Springs is not the place to retire. Government, Housing, Hospitals are not "Senior Friendly" when you are elderly much less poor. Two classes in HS, (1)elderly, poor (2)Service providers.
Different culture and different ideals are not what most desire when making a life changing move. Most Senior Citizens move out of HS after a few years. Make sure you do your research before ever considering this type of move. In this vulnerable stage in life, trust can no longer be accepted.
Talk to family and friends before jumping into something that looks nice, promoted well, PR does a great job of selling there product.
I personally wouldn't recommend living in this town. My opinion, spent 10 years and still am amazed at how 60'ish they are in the 20th century. If you were born and raised in this town, you are basically happy. Again my opinion, Southerners prefer you stay out of there town if you talk to the locals.
Try driving down town HS and being 65.

Hot Springs : Dismal, Scenic, Calm - 4/21/2009
We have lived 15 miles outside HS for nine years and are retired. I have not once seen a child swing on a swing or go down a slide. I've not seen a park for kids with the exception of what is called The Tank. Traveling from Hot Springs Village to downtown (which is Hot Springs proper)there is an area on a corner that has a stream with ducks with a small bridge you walk across to get to the tank and the pavilion. It is very shaded so there are no flowers or landscaping so it is not attractive. For birthday parties the kids can crawl all over a WWII tank then eat on a picnic table under the pavilion. There are no swings or slides. They do have a portable toilet thingy. it is right at the entrance to a National Park. Boy, is that a stretch. It is simply a 1/4 mile winding road with hills on one side and on the other side is an RV "Park" with Zero facilities. People say you can hike up the hill behind the RV park but I never see anyone doing it. The speed limit is 30. If you get caught
