The land of milk and honey - 8/28/2018
I just moved up here from the bay area and I cannot believe the differences in many ways: The first is the air quality - we can breathe! My son has severe asthma and there is a significant difference up here. The prices of homes are also significantly less expensive. There are great restaurants, shopping, and great schools. We are close to Tahoe and when you must go to the bay area, it is doable. So glad I moved here. To me, this is the land of milk and honey. Read More

High School Drugs - 9/9/2015
El Dorado Hills is a nice place to live and there are a lot of Neo-Rich folks here if you like that kind of crowd. But be warned if you are a parent with high school aged kids. You will be exposing them to the drug infested and pot smoking environment of Oak Ridge High School. Depending on where you live in El Dorado Hills, Oak Ridge HS is the only game in town for your child to attend HS. The problem is too many kids with big allowances that can afford to purchase a multitude of drugs at the HS. Not really sure how that gets by the school administration or the school resource officer, but it does. Anyway, you take your chances when sending your kids to Oak Ridge HS.  Read More

USED to be a wonderful place to live! - 4/9/2007
I've lived in El Dorado Hills for almost 20 years and have seen tremendous growth, traffic & pollution. Since the latest development,"Serrano", was built you can add Bay Area transplants and their Hummers driving a few blocks to the local grocery store. There are a lot of rich, snotty residents, spoiled teenagers who drive fast in their parents fancy cars who all think they have their own set of rules and driving laws. Other than that, it is a beautiful area in close proximity to skiing, boating, wineries and the Bay area. If you don't mind being judged by the "village" you live in, you may love it here. I'm leaving as soon as my house Read More
