Great Climate - Outrageous Views - 4/2/2008
The southeastern edge of Aurora provides outrageous views of the Rocky Mountain "Front Range." We share a 150 mile view from Pike's Peak in Colorado Springs to Long's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Coming from the midwest, I can only say the climate is what we enjoy most next to the montains. There is little humidity and the sun shines almost everyday. Yes, we have some snow but not like the mountains. We've had less than 18" this year and most of the snow melts within days. We seldom wear heavy coats.

Aurora has its less than desirable areas like many large cities; however, we find it a great city to live in. We're 20 minutes from sports facilities hosting the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos, and Denver Nuggets. Denver is a progressive city with Boulder and Colorado Springs just 45 minutes Read More

Winridge Apartments and Townhouses - 1/21/2008
I have been living in Winridge for about a year. When I first applied for an apartment, they told me my rent would be a certain amount and I applied for a 6-9 month lease. After I moved in, I later receive a notice saying that I had to pay water/sewer (which would increase my rent from what I agreed on) then when my six months were about to expire, I called the office in hope that maybe they forgot about information to send to me about my new lease. Come to find out when I first moved in they had changed the lease from 6-9months to 1yr. When the snow hits, there is no plows to remove snow from the parking lot, they still have not come to do any maintenance in my apartment, no matter how much I call to have them come check out/ticket the problem. Now, they are boosting my rent once again if I renew my lease. Just want good customer service for a nice place to live with my Read More

Aurora: not a place to visit or live! - 2/5/2007
Aurora, along with any city here in Colorado does a great job marketing themselves as a cosmopolitan, clean and wonderful place to vacation, with plenty of work.... NOT TRUE... My family and I moved here from Nashville TN to avoid the crime rate and pollution, and thought Aurora, being outward from the entire metro would be a convenient fit. This place is a disgusting rat hole- every landlord seems to have "luxury standards" based on some third world country that's been recently firebombed- the work is very limited, and almost everyone is encouraged to take handouts. I have an IT degree and can't find anyone willing to pay what I'm worth although I've been recently recertified. To top it all off, the pollution is so bad, my husband, myself and my children have all had recurring blisters in our noses- the doctors say it's common for people to get those and they should "go away some time". BTW, the docs here are terrible- my newborn son was subjected to unnecessary medication for 15 Read More

Large suburb with big city problems - 1/10/2007
In the 20 years I've lived here, I've seen Aurora grow from a nice, somewhat quiet, town to live and raise kids, into a city of almost 300,000 people, with all the associated crime, congestion and urban sprawl that I thought I left behind in the large midwest city where I lived two decades ago. As I approach my retirement years, I am looking for a town without all the problems of a large city, with possibly less severe winters, as this winter has been expecially cold and Read More
