RUN AWAY FAST! - 8/21/2018
I moved here from South Dakota and regret it 100%. I have been here a year for personal reasons and cant wait to move. I now live in the county, which is better compared to in town. Pueblo has homeless at every corner, garbage, and needles that litter EVERY street. The ghetto is 90% of Pueblo. There are no "good" neighborhoods! You rarely see kids riding their bikes unless they are with at least 2 adults. The teachers went on strike right before summer break since the city will not pay them anything worth their time.

On EVERY block there is a discount store (Dollar General, etc), a weed store, and a bar or liquor store... so you can guess what kind of people are here

The crime is unreal. It is so bad that most of it gets let go. The DA office is full of young fresh from college dick bags. They will do whatever it takes to charge you, even if you are blatantly innocent. They will drag it out in hopes that you give up and they can chalk up a win on their Read More

a box I can afford - 9/30/2016
I would like to move to Pueblo, my company will not give transfers with an automatic raise because they are bound corporate HR policy which states " no employee is allowed to progress at the expense of the company " . My base Salary is 48 K a yr could I afford a box or a closet in Pueblo ? will I have to be Bi-lingual ? I only know how to yell at children and spouses in Spanish. Is it mandatory that you must own a Harley to live there ? is there a 24 hour restaurant or Walgreens ? is there a local micro brew pub ? what time do people normally get up on Sunday ? is there pressure to use marijuana even if you don't wanna ? Read More

This is a very nice place to live, like anything y - 8/25/2016
The cost of living index for homes listed here is 62, while all others is still near what it is for most other cities I've lived.. at around 90. So the grocery, gas.. health.. is not that drastic. But, I did research neighborhoods, and found a fairly nice size home, that needed TLC , in a fairly decent, north end neighborhood. It was livable. Will need some work over a period of time to restore. But is roomy, has a nice size yard, a view of the mountains, no city traffic, fresh air, and the economy here isn't terrible. So I am very happy. A few of my neighbors have lived here forever, and do not take to "newbies" well, but I can take that. :) I really like not having all the traffic and sirens and heavy air. Also, I am just about 7 miles from Lake Pueblo, I love all that open space, the boating opportunity, the trails. Really, this place is a nice find. I think the complaints on here are to steer new comers away. :) lol It's a ploy to keep it pristine and prevent over Read More

Your city is appalling - 1/12/2016
I came here a month ago. Was planning to go to Colorado Springs, but I never made it. Had issues with my transportation. I have been in Pueblo for a little over a month now and have seen nothing but filth everywhere. The people here don't care if the streets are dirty. Don't care that since we had snow two days ago that there are icy streets everywhere there is any kind of shade. No salt, no sand, no nothing to stop cars from sliding on any of these dangerous areas. There is a McDonald's near downtown with a sign that the bottom is broken out. There are florescent tubes exposed on the bottom, and I've been told it's been like that for years. Every business I walk into has a dirty storefront or has litter all over the parking lot.
The streets are full of trash, litter, and dirt that appears to have been washed there by some thunderstorm months ago. It's not just the dirt either. You people in Pueblo are the meanest, rudest drivers I have seen anyplace. You won't yield for Read More

Education - 12/4/2015
I live in Pueblo West which is a suburb of Pueblo. I love our schools! Cedar Ridge, Connect and Pueblo West High School are the schools my boys have attended. I love the clean air, cool nights, big sky country. I can see the Milky Way as I take one step out my front door and reasonable cost of living to raise a family here. I love the school my kids went to and one still goes to, and that I teach at-Pueblo West High School. Everything from strong academics-both AP and IB are offered here- to strong extracurriculars. We have the typical clubs such as Speech and Debate, Mock Trial, Youth in Government, FBLA, Knowledge Bowl, DECA, Chess Club, Cooking Club, MECHA, Drama Club, Interact Club, Mountain Biking Club, Key Club, Broadcast Journalism, Future Teachers, Yearbook, Newspaper, Student Council. Additionally we offer terrific choir, band, jazz band and drama offerings in our brand new state of the art auditorium where we have had productions such as Our Town and Oklahoma, Alice in Read More

Pueblo, Colorado… A Great time to be here - 7/18/2015
I bought a home in Pueblo, Co almost 10 years ago and never looked back. After living in a number of other areas in the country, I have to say this has been a tremendous place to live. The downtown Riverwalk, a vibrant art scene, and countless community initiatives and events make it an exciting place to be. Like anywhere else, people look at life through their own lens. Pueblo is a very community-oriented bike-accessible city(this is growing), with an incredible mountain park nearby for serenity, hiking, and a cutting edge environmental center. We also have great access to camping, lakes, and larger cities such as Colorado Spring and Denver without the high cost of living. PBS Music Voyager did a beautiful special on Pueblo in 2014; Check it out. Better yet, come check Pueblo out for yourself. You might just be Read More

Pueblo Crime Rate - 5/24/2015
Are you crazy?? This is not a "best place to live" if you want to keep your stuff. Burglaries and auto thefts are HUGE, and if, for any reason, you shop, the number of panhandlers in the parking lots are growing each day. Oh, by the way, the number of crimes has increased exponentially since the legalization of marijuana, and is going up daily.  Read More
