What BestPlaces Users Say about Trinidad

Trinidad, located in southern Colorado, is a small city with a population of approximately 8,000 people. It is known for its rich history, vibrant arts scene, and stunning natural surroundings. Despite its charm, Trinidad has faced challenges such as a declining economy and high crime rates. To get a better understanding of what it's like to live in this city, let's take a look at what some users have to say about it on BestPlaces.net.

According to user "John D," who has lived in Trinidad for over 25 years, the city has a "unique blend of old and new" that adds to its character. He also mentions the friendly community and the abundance of outdoor activities as major pluses. However, John also mentions that the cost of living can be high for a small town and job opportunities are limited.

In contrast, user "Maria G" moved to Trinidad a few years ago and couldn't be happier with her decision. She praises the city's affordable housing options, low taxes, and close-knit community. She also mentions the great schools and the variety of shops and restaurants in the downtown area. Overall, Maria says, "Trinidad is a hidden gem."

Another long-time resident, "Samantha T," agrees with John about the limited job market but adds that the city is taking steps to improve it. She also points out the "beautiful scenery" and the "laidback lifestyle" as reasons why she loves living in Trinidad. However, she cautions that the downtown area can be a bit run-down and there is a drug problem in some parts of the city.

Finally, user "Mark P" has a different perspective on Trinidad. He moved to the city a few years ago for a job opportunity but has since found it difficult to adjust. Mark says, "Trinidad is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't recommend living here." He highlights the high crime rates and the lack of cultural diversity as major downsides.

In conclusion, users have mixed opinions about living in Trinidad. Many appreciate its small-town feel and natural beauty, while others have concerns about the economy and crime rates. It's important to weigh both the positives and negatives before making a decision to live in this particular place.

I,myself, do not care for Trinidad because of the lack of things to do,it's run down appearance, and the surrounding area of open plains. I have never cared much for the landscape of southern Colorado, but others may like the wide open spaces, canyons, mesas, and mountains that surround the area. 80 miles from Pueblo and about 140 from Denver.Couple of good things...Trinidaddio Blues Festival,If you're a golfer they just opened a golf course (cougar canyon)....mmm that was a couple I Read More

Rising Cost of Housing - 1/8/2007
My husband and I have been looking to purchase a home for the past couple of years in the Trinidad, Colorado area. It seems as though the cost of housing is skyrocketing in this area. Rent averages around $800 a month and it is quite difficult to find a home to purchase under $150,000. Unfortunately, the wages in this area are not comparable to the cost of housing unless you are employed by one of the companies that work in the gas drilling field. This is quite unfortunate as Trinidad is a nice place to live, if you can afford Read More
