Bonita is Muy Bonita. :) - 7/15/2021
We moved to Bonita Springs in January 2021 and have been here about seven months. Overall, the city is clean and the people are friendly. We like the shopping options at Coconut Point and Miromar. While it would be nice to be a little closer to everything, we don't need to go much over 10 minutes to get to places like Target and Best Buy. Bonita Springs feels safe and has provided us with a happy lifestyle since we arrived.

Pure bologna. It is a fantastic area. We moved here full time in 2018 and this town is amazing. You are part of a metro of close to 1,000,000 population and yet have the feel of a smaller town (70,000 pop). Amazing restaurants, shopping, historical areas, clean and clear beaches, and a million things to do.

Me and my husband are planning a move to Florida and I was looking for information on the Bonita Springs area. Is it hard to find a rental property there? We would like to buy but have been told by several people to rent first to get a feel of the area. I am a college student working on a Bachelors in Health Care Administration and my husband is a culinary school graduate. How hard will it be for us to find jobs? Also I have a 10 year old daughter and another baby on the way. How are the schools? Some people have said that the Florida schools are horrible...is that true? I mean, I know that no place is perfect, but we are looking for somewhere better than where we are (Southern Ohio). Any information anyone can give would be helpful!

Bonita Springs & Naples - 4/8/2008
After being in Fort Myers for several months now, I have been to Bonita Springs and Naples a few times each for the beaches and sightseeing. In addition driving through these areas are like night and day in comparison to Fort Myers. Naples and Bonita Springs being Day, Fort Myers being Night. Naples looks the newest, though. Although, the people in Bonita Springs seem to be much friendlier. I like both. Since I haven't been to Marco Island or Sanibel yet, I must say the clearest water (meaning you can see the bottom) I've seen yet is between Lover's Key Park between Bonita Beach and Fort Myers Beach and Vanderbilt

Wages low compared to housing - 9/1/2006
When I first moved to this area 10 years ago, it was a cozy beach town. After living in New England most of my life, I considered the average $450 a month rent for a small 2 bedroom to be very reasonable. However, in the past few years, the housing market has doubled, the insurance rates have increased dramatically and, therefore, the landlords have raised rents considerably. Now $1,000 a month will get you very little. Also, most apartments have converted to condos, so if you're not in the market to buy, you'll have a difficult time finding a nice place. Keep in mind that, if a person has a profession in which he/she can earn a good wage, the outlook might be brighter, but $8 or $9 is pretty average pay. Also, many companies require that applicants speak Spanish, which will limit your choices if you are not bilingual. Bonita Springs is inbetween pricy Naples and beautiful new Estero. A large new shopping center is being built in Estero. Estero is close to Gulf Coast University, the Southwest Regional International Airport, beaches, and mulitple attractions. The Bonita Springs, Estero area is also just south of Fort Myers, Florida.
