Great place to live & work! - 9/6/2019
I have lived in LaGrange my entire life and it has so much to offer for a town of its size! We have a rich culture that offers music, art, food, education and recreation for all ages. LaGrange has a beautiful Lake, downtown area and is within an hour from Atlanta if you choose to go to the "big city". The cost of living is reasonable, climate is typically mild and its within driving distance to the beach or the mountains. Read More

LaGrange is a beautiful southern city with many more amenities than one would expect for a relatively small town. Read More

I moved to LaGrange 15 years ago to work as an engineer in a local manufacturing plant. I thought I would only be here a short while. I was single and didn't think LaGrange was booming enough for me. Now - with a great husband and four children, I love LaGrange. If is a wonderful family town.

LaGrange is the perfect place to call home if you need to work in Atlanta but want to live where there is a slower pace to life. LaGrange is 45 minutes south of the Airport - perfect - not too close, not too far. It is situated on West Point Lake. A beautiful lake with 500 miles of shoreline. There are vast cultural actities: a local Symphony, Museum, Ballet Company, and an Arts Alligiance and plenty of Recreational activities: fishing, boating, Recreational sports leagues, 12+ camp grounds, hiking rails, mountain bike trails - and Callaway Gardens is only 20 minutes away. There are mulitple great restaurants, although you will spend most weekends at backyard cook outs Read More

Lagrange's Need to bring other ministries to the - 10/3/2009
The City of Lagrange as well as the Nation is experiencing a recession. There are woes in all of our communities.Yet only a few churches and groups are answering the call to service. I would like to acknowledge the work done on the part of the New Beginning CDC church. Every moWhen will we ever get together? It is quit apparent that the City nth those people pool their resources to feed the needy in their community.A small black congregation with little resources ,but they giveaway over 130- 150 food baskets per month. This speaks volume about their call to help. Yet, this draws my attention to ask the profound question to what is the City doing to help with grant monies for their needy. And why are their not Minority groups in the community worthy of collaborating with the City to answer these woes. When a City like Lagrange and Vicinity is under an attack to combat poverty. It is sound advice to bring all hues to the table for dialog. People like Pastor Harris and other Leader withs Read More

Rebuttal to review on City of LaGrange, Georgia - 6/27/2009
Falcon is wrong about LaGrange. It isn't the place as described. Yes, things here are not perfect..........nor is any other place. Falcon is bitter about something and blames the community. I am not a have nor a have not. I was reared here and after divorce came back here to rear my children here because I knew it was a place for them to grow up in a community of people who cared about each other and strived to make it the best little city they could make it. LaGrange is a place to belong a place to be a part of. What Falcon doesn't understand is that you have to be a part of something to change what is wrong. You can't just stand by the side of the road and throw stones. Change doesn't work that way. LaGrange has an outstanding school system and an unmatched county recreation department that provides children of all ages the opportunity to participate in sports of all denominations. There are free dental clinics for those who cannot afford them, there are soup kitchens for the hungry Read More

LaGrange - 10/6/2005
LaGrange is a small city of 25,000 in the middle of Atlanta and Columbus. The schools here are absolutly horrible, and there is a high illiteracy rate. Crime is high for such a small population, but is concentrated in certain neighborhoods, many of which are trying to be redeveloped such as Hillside. Healthcare isn't that great either, but Columbus and Altlanta are close. The overwhelming majority of the population is Baptist, but all of the other major denominations are well represented. There is also a small synagogue. The mall isn't much with a mediocre Belk, JCPenny, and Goody's, and not much else. Same goes for restaurants, but that's changing as many good ones are opening up in the re-devloped downtown. Thanks in part to LaGrange College there is a symphony orchestra, and opera and ballet companies. The local government here is AWFUL, and taxes are high. The people here are friendly, but there is a big gap between the haves and Read More
