Can't Wait Till Spring! - 8/22/2023
After spending some time in North Idaho we decided to settle down in Saint Maries. It's a reasonable commute to Coeur d'Alene for my husband where he found a job as a night manager so there's no traffic on his way home. I think we overall got an OK deal on our home considering that it has a few acres, but we really want horses and to do the whole homesteading thing so we made the leap, and so far so good! We go to a church in town where everyone has been very welcoming, and there is a lady at one of the grocery stores that, I'm not sure if she knows that we've never known each other, ha, ha. I can't wait until next spring cuz it's very green here. Recommend getting some acreage and farming if you can. Many people here aim for that lifestyle so I feel very lucky. I changed my CA plates too asap, lol, but I also let people know that I'm not here to try and change things but that I want to be a part of the community and will keep it nice the way it is.  Read More

Was a nice visit - 4/7/2023
Was a little out of the way but I was promised that I wouldn't regret my visit, but that I had to go fishing so I guess that's a big thing there. I had a very nice time, I enjoyed the antiques you can find so I brought a few back home. Fishing was pretty easy, as is nearby boat renting, but it struck me as a hole in the wall city built in a valley against better judgement but everywhere is very green. I had a much needed peaceful time. I'll have to go back again but use an outfitter since I only caught one Read More

Nice but old fashion - 7/19/2021
Lived here for over a year, very friendly people and don't have to deal with crowds or rude people. It's pretty much everything I expected when choosing to move to Idaho. Perfect location because I wanted to get away and be more old fashion. Beautiful and serene water holes all around, very conservative so it's Read More

Quiet and Good Fishing - 7/13/2021
Quiet and good fishing. Half the town is on a reservation, but we ourselves are a small and close knit community who mostly share the same values, love freedom and quietness. There’s no real crime here and the Sheriff won’t let nothing escalate to a problem. There’s recently a growing Mormon population for sure, all good people. I’ve been trying to get my own family to move out here before it becomes too expensive, but can’t say there’s anywhere I’d personally rather be. My only complaint is it’s been getting too crowded on the St Joe lately, mostly outsiders from Coeur d’Alene. All their jet boats constantly running on their lake at all hours do nothing but scare the fish away. People are like fish, just want some peace, untouched nature, and to be left Read More
