Beautiful Small Town with Limited Opportunities - 9/22/2022
I was born and raised in Morehead, KY. I’m 49 and have lived in Morehead the entire time. It is one of the most beautiful places with lots of nature to enjoy. Cave Run Lake is stunning and there are many hiking trails. It is very much a small town with many residents having lived in the area most or all of their lives. There is a local theatre group that does some good plays, a few festivals (The Storytelling Festival, Arts and Eats, Freedom Fest, and a couple of Crafts festivals. Wonderful place to live! - 8/31/2007
Morehead, Kentucky, is a wonderful place to live for me. It has the cozy, safe, friendly small-town atmosphere and is surrounded by forest. In minutes, I can be lakeside or hiking! Having Morehead State University here means interesting, and affordable, cultural events are always available to the community. Plus, having college kids around keeps things lively and youthful! When I am in the mood for a big city, we are only 60 miles from Lexington to the West or 60 miles to Ashland toward the east; and only about 150 miles from Louisville or Cincinnati. I feel like I have it all! I can live in a small town with a friendly community, and still have access to cultural activities and big city shopping without ever having to give up the great outdoors! Morehead is Read More
