Morehead, KY is a small city located in Rowan County, Kentucky. The city of Morehead is home to approximately 6,500 people and lies along the banks of the Licking River. As with many smaller cities, Morehead has its own local political system that governs the town. The governing body consists of a mayor and four council members who are elected every two years by residents. Elections are held in November of even-numbered years and all citizens above the voting age of 18 are eligible to vote. Issues such as fiscal responsibility, infrastructure improvements, public safety and educational excellence have all been important topics in recent elections. The current mayor is Joan Miller and she has expressed her commitment to continuing to make Morehead a strong and vibrant community for its residents.

R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
