Quality of Life - 10/26/2010
Sand Springs is 15 minutes from Tulsa and 15 minutes from Keystone Lake. It has beautiful rolling hills with the north and south being divided by the Arkansas River. This would be a beautiful place for a riverwalk and recreation if the city leaders would get a vision. "Where there is no vision, the people Read More

How to decide if Sand Springs is the right place f - 12/26/2009
I have lived in Sand Springs for decades.

If you or your kids like to ride around for hours in your backyard on ATVs, snow machines, motorcycles or lawn mowers, Sand Springs is for you. Hours. Seriously. People are not allowed to call the police about any noise until 11:30 pm. There are no codes against hours of fun for you and your offspring to rev engines, pop wheelies, and waste gasoline while people die for it in the Middle East. But if you don't watch the news, you won't know, and you belong here.

If you like to keep old appliances, mattresses, and junk in your front yard, you will love Sand Springs.

If you have several dogs, cats, chickens, etc to make a racket all day long and all night long, you will love Sand Springs.

If you hate any kind of good restaurant, you will love Sand Springs. The people who live here can not even follow a simple fast food recipe well. There are two cafes. One is horrible and the other is Read More

How to decide if you belong in Sand Springs, OK - 12/26/2009
If you or your kids like to ride lawn mowers, ATVs, motorcycles and snow machines around in circles IN YOUR BACKYARD for hours, you belong here. The mayor, the city code enforcement and the police will not stop you unless you ride around after 11:30 p.m. Seriously. Hours and hours of yahoo fun for you and yours.

If you like to keep old appliances, mattresses, and junk scattered around your front yard, you belong here.

If you like to glare at people you can tell aint from around here, you belong here.

If you like to hear dogs howl for hours at a time, you belong here.

If you are thin or attractive, you do NOT belong here and you will know it.

If you have any higher education at all, you do NOT belong here.

If you like to eat at good restaurants, you do NOT belong here. (Even the fast food restaurant food is bad compared to Tulsa. It seems people here can't follow a simple fast food formula.)

The largest business in town is going out of busin - 12/26/2009
Run for your life. The person who wrote about cliques and games is telling the truth. There are no codes enforced and people have appliances and junk in their front yards. It has become a very noisy place because people drive ATVs, motorcycles, snow machines, etc. in their back yards! Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Jenks, are more expensive cities for a reason. They enforce codes to keep trashy, low class people from taking Read More

ways to figure out if you belong here - 12/26/2009
If you are a hillbilly, you belong here.

If your idea of fun is to ride around in your backyard on a lawnmower, motorcycle, ATV of any kind, snowmobile, you belong here.

If you like to have dogs and cats, but do not like to take care of them and enjoy barking day and night, you belong here.

If you like to be 10 miles from any good restaurant, you belong here.

If you are thin, you do NOT belong in Sand Springs, OK. You will be glared at as if you have come from another country.

If you are an attractive person, you do NOT belong here. You will not fit in.

If you love noise, old appliances kept in the front yard, horrible school systems, you belong in Sand Springs, OK.

not all truths - 3/23/2009
The avarage income is quite abit off. They only want pleople to think we have money. some great town.... We have to go to other towns to work, eat out and have any intertainment. They have been promising growth for years, tore down houses, and stores have closed and nothing has been replaced for years. Our Mayor likes it to be a small town and loves the click he is in. I am not from here but have lived here for the past 12 years.I have learned to play thier games well, people are snobs and stay to there little clicks. They play the good ol boy system here and if your not willing to play their games you will be outcast. I must say the crime is low. No recreation for the kids. Well... basic sports but, like i said you have to know some1 or they take your $ and you get to watch your child sit sadly on the sidelines ! This is just what I have expermented since I have lived here. Good luck and I hope this Read More

Small Business Capital of Oklahoma - 2/15/2009
Sand Springs is among one of Oklahoma's small towns rich with pioneer history.
It is possibly the only town in Oklahoma created through philanthropy. The city's founder is Charles Page.
Located just a few miles west of Tulsa, Sand Springs shares much of its culture and recreation with its larger metropolitan neighbor. Like other neighboring communities adjacent to Tulsa, Sand Springs offers a quiet, simpler alternative to the hustle & bustle of Tulsa, yet still in close proximity to allow residents with all the amenities of a metropolis the size of Tulsa.
The greatest potential Sand Springs possesses is the revival of the quaint downtown district, particularly for a person who is wanting to start a small business that caters to local residents and visiting tourist eager to experience Native Oklahoma at its finest.
Aside from big city entertainment, Northeastern Oklahoma offers the avid outdoors person fantastic opportunities for camping, fishing, horseback Read More
