Hope there are many Republicans in Lake Oswego - 9/22/2020
I have lived occasionally in Lake Oswego with my sister who married a LO man and found it very sweet. He was raised there by hard-working parents who had fantastic work ethics - and who became very successful because of it.
Republicans are given a bad rap by Democrats who are poorer and who hate everyone who has any wealth, even though they could have wealth if they tried harder. I worked for welfare and saw how many have bad attitudes and don't try. This is why there will never be equality - people simply do not have the same discipline.
The Bidens and Clintons have both lived off taxpayers forever.
Our good examples do not include people who blame others and consistently avoid thinking about their own choices and their own lack of business or service contributions.
Where is their product?
Democrats make me laugh. It is so obvious they live off the work of Read More

Paradise...we think - 7/28/2019
Retired in Lake Oswego to be close to family and
Live in a beautiful little city. We call it Paradise.
We’ve had part-time property in Oregon for 20 years and we have enjoyed many parts of Oregon’s beauty, but decided on our little nest
Here by the lake. Our favorite part about living here is the walking convenience to most places.
Our least favorite is the traffic congestion that has developed during the last 5 years. That’s the way life goes and there have been many changes with neighborhoods, roads, bridges
And the beautiful landscape, but nothing remains the same forever, and the little city is still enjoyable for us. Beautiful even on the blue
rainy days, breathtaking on a warm summer day
gazing across the sparkling lake, and delightful
During the frosty winter holidays all aglow with
Decorations. The changing seasons make Lake Oswego a real Paradise. Flower baskets and blossom trees throughout the city in spring and Read More

From best to worst place I've ever lived - 10/12/2018
Ive lived here 22 years and it has gone from a charming small town to a congested pass thru neighborhood. People are rude, traffic a nightmare and we hate it here but can't afford to move! Right now whole town is a traffic jam of sewer and road wror. There is nowhere to park on the street, you cant have guests, or even walk for all the dust and mess. Taxes are horrible, thousands are moving here and trees are dissappearing. If you are a multi millionaire, want yo live in a congested mess come here. Otherwiae, check othere areas. Read More

Snobs without a cause. Horrible place to be a one - 6/29/2016
I have lived in the best places in the United states throughout my career. My husband passed shortly after moving to LO. I found myself outcast by the community. These people in LO have a very unusual sense of entitlement that stretches far past my greatest imagination. Without a cause, they are nothing, or know one special. I sincerely don’t get the attitude in that town. Weird, weird, very weird, nothing going on town. The schools in West Linn, next town south is where we ended up going, my children loved WL a lot more. No attitude there either. Overall though, I did feel LO / West Linn & PDX, the people are just... off a bit. While at it here for those of you considering this area. Oregon City, Vancouver, WA may be affordable. Don’t do it! Gross. Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin, West Linn is where it’s at. We finally left Oregon for the sunshine & we are all much happier as a Read More

Great community - 6/17/2012
We moved to Lake Oswego for the schools, but we've found it to be a great fit for our family in so many ways. We were a little cautious in deciding to move here (vs. Portland), because we had read online that it is seen as "snobby" by some, but have really not encountered that. Our neighbors have been welcoming and friendly, and we've met a lot of like-minded families through our kids' schools. Summers here can not be beat, with the lake and community parks, great outdoor dining, frequent outdoor concerts, LO farmer's market, and of course the natural beauty of this part of the country.  Read More

A Great Family Town - 1/18/2008
I consider Lake Oswego, Oregon the Land of Oz. Being a recent transplant from Seattle, we were very apprehensive about relocating, mainly because of small children. We were also leaving a great life in Seattle. However, all research pointed to nothing but positives about our new city. We were cautiously excited. The city is more than we could have hoped for. I cannot say enough about the community involvement, the superior schools and the overall feeling of safety and low crime. The close-knit feeling of this community is incredibly strong. The financial support provided from the parents to support our schools has led them to be rated "exceptional" year after year. The student/teacher ratios are very low and the classes offered are considerable. My kids have thrived. Now my big worry is that we'll be transferred out before my kids are done with high Read More

Lake Oswego - 8/3/2007
The quality of life is pretty good here, although you do pay for it. L.O. is clean, fairly compact and well-appointed with schools, stores, parks and the other amenities necessary for a comfortable "bedroom community". If you avoid I-5 the commute into downtown Portland is fairly manageable.

Update: September 30, 2023: My son visits the Portland area frequently to see old school friends, etc.. He reports that L.O. has gotten more crowded, with more traffic, but that it has not been directly affected by the nonsense that has been going on downtown since 2020. Read More

Lake Oswego schools! - 5/18/2007
If you are low income do not move to lake oswego! The rent here runs from 800 to over 900 for a two or three bedroom one or two bath! And the school supply list will run you up to 160.00 for the first set of school supplies and than during the second week the teachers will ask for more school supplies! The nieghborhoods are safe and there are no gangs here yet so far! But there is not one place for kids to go to for fun! Lake Oswego is a real boring place for families to bring there kids to live Read More
