Austin Is the winner! - 7/12/2005
I went to school at the University of Texas back in the seventies and since then have lived in Anchorage, Wichita, New York City, and finally, rural Connecticut. No place that I have been in has surpassed Austin in any category. Austin, Texas has a progressive spirit that is reflected in the friendly faces of its youthful and energetic population, it's liberal politics, and the natural beauty of its hills and lakes. The weather is agreeable, the music is enjoyable, and above everything else, it is plain fun. The Texas dialect is reassuring and welcoming and most people are very polite. I can hardly wait until I retire so I can return to the most delightful place I have ever lived in. Thanks,
