The city has a population of around 17,000 and has seen steady growth in recent years. Many people choose to live in Hurricane for its small-town feel and proximity to larger cities like St. George and Las Vegas.

In a review on Best Places, Sarah H. shares her positive experience living in Hurricane, stating, "I have lived in Hurricane for 10 years and it has been a great place to raise my family. The community is friendly and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy." Similarly, Joe S. praises the city's low cost of living, writing, "The cost of living in Hurricane is much lower than other parts of Utah. I was able to purchase a house here for a fraction of what it would have cost in Salt Lake City."

However, not all reviews are glowing. John D. expresses frustration with the lack of job opportunities, saying, "Finding a job in Hurricane can be challenging. Most people here commute to nearby cities for work." Another reviewer, Amanda W., mentions the hot summers as a downside, stating, "The summers in Hurricane can be brutal. It's definitely not for those who can't handle the heat."

Overall, the majority of user reviews on Best Places have positive things to say about living in Hurricane, with many highlighting the welcoming community and attractive cost of living. However, it's important to consider factors like job opportunities and climate before making a decision to relocate to this city.

Not a small town Frat boy type daily rentals - 2/14/2024
Lived here almost 10 years in retirement. Definitely not what it was 10 years ago. I knew the population would increase, that’s inevitable but it doesn’t have a small town feel at all compared to the Midwest. Lots of daily rentals, roads too small for the population, and kind of a frat boy atmosphere.
You can find climate and other data on this site but I’m just telling you it’s not small town.
Not as friendly as the Midwest I’m sad to say. Lots of good old boy real estate zoning so they overbuild and don’t worry about any type of family atmosphere. No water but one of the powerful locals is building a water park on a two lane road that’s already overcrowded.
If you’re a party type it’s ok. If you’re not I suggest looking elsewhere. I’m planning to move. Not anything I wanted to do again when I retired here. The good thing, my house has more than doubled in price. Not really anything good in the long run. Read More

Enough shopping, and nice places to eat. We are close to Zion National Park, and St. George. I love living here. I came from California, and I am glad to be Read More
