Great weather - 9/10/2008
The weather in Virginia Beach is temperate and seasonal. Winters are chilly but usually in the 30-40 F range and very little snow (rare if it sticks or accumulates). Summers are hot and humid from late June to late August. Outdoor pools are usually opened in early June and stay open until September. Ocean temperature is warmest during July and August. A mix of evergreen and seasonal trees and plants. Leaves fall in October much like they do in other parts along the Read More

Nice place to live, not a great place to work in t - 9/10/2008
Great parks, beaches, weather is temperate (hot in the summer, cold in the winter), lots of things to do and places to go. Traffic is getting pretty bad between normal rush hours, and even on weekends. No rail systems, only buses and cars, etc. Some bike paths, but not well connected across the city. The IT employment opportunities here are really limited. Worse than any other metro region along the east Read More

real estate prices and quality of life - 5/16/2008
I am a REALTOR(R) in Virginia Beach. I love this city. We live in the southern section near the Municipal Center. The neighborhoods, schools, beach, and amenities are top notch. Yes, housing prices have risen, but still not bad compared to other localities. There are many real estate opportunities available in this market that will pay off later when the market turns. Our economy, military, and other businesses keep Virginia Beach thriving.

my opinion of virginia beach weather - 2/14/2008
i have lived here 33 years. the weather is ok but i would rather live in palm springs. from january to march the weather gets cold and cloudy, but it is not too bad. once and a while the temp gets low say 25 and once or twice it snows but it does not stay long maybe two days. april to june are very nice, warm, sunny and low humidity. july to august is very bad. very hot with lots of humidity, and it is very uncomfortable. sometimes during august it rains alot and is overcast. the heat and humidity can be so bad you don't even want to go to the beach.
september to october is very sunny and very beautiful with lower humidity. november is a little cooler, and little cloudy. december is colder but not too bad. during the winter months the weather can change drastically, one day it is 32 and rainy and next day it can be 65 and sunny, but in the middle of summer it stays hot and humid and i mean hot!!! and shirt soaking humid Read More

"Virginia is For Lovers, Especially Virginia Beach - 2/12/2008
Come July, it will be five years since I moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia and my love of living here continues to burgeon. I visited here in 1987 with a group of people when my cousin was stationed at the Norfolk Naval Base while he was in the navy and my desire to live here one day was due to that visit; the city impressed me that much. I was fortunate to meet a woman who is now my wife who, coincidentally enough, was born in Virginia Beach and has family living here. Needless to say, it didn't take much persuasion to get her to move here. In the several years from when I visited to when I moved here Virginia Beach has grown tremendously and just about everywhere you go there is building still going on. The oceanside is constant with activity especially, of course, during the summer time. There are many different types of restaurants, many which are very good so, regardless of what kind of food you are in the mood for, you will find it in this city. The entertainment is first Read More

Everything you need - 1/9/2008
The West side of sunny Virginia Beach is 15 minutes or less from everything and anything you want to do. Norfolk, Chesepeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton, and Newport News come together with Virginia Beach to make a metroplex of diversity and excitement. I can go for a stroll in booming downtown Norfolk or walk on miles of boardwalk on the Atlantic Ocean - I can visit the charm of old-town Portsmouth or go north of Newport News and learn about the colonizatin of the Unted States at Yorktown and Williamsburg! There is so much available that crouds and traffic don't hinder the enjoyment like they can in other big cities. The highways make it hard to visit without a map, but if you live here, you'll love Read More

Outdoor fitness - 12/30/2007
For the outdoor fitness fan, Virginia Beach offers a number of opportunities. If the Atlantic beach or it's wide board walk are not to your liking then there are more than enough bike paths along the major roads throughout the city to keep you entertained. There is also a state park chalk full of paths for biking or Read More
