Elma - 7/17/2015
I was somewhat amused to olred's view of Elma, WA. We just moved here a few months ago from NV and have enjoyed it. I'm not sure after NV whether I will like 70 inches of rain a year, but the summer has been awfully dry. Like anywhere, I think crime and quality of life depends on the neighborhood. Our neighbors are all older, and I couldn't have touched a house like mine in Las Vegas for the price I paid here. As far as the drug abuse, I guess if you want them you can get them, but what do I care? If you're worried about your kids, I'm sure they can get them if they want them where ever you Read More

Stay Away From Grays Harbor County - 3/11/2012
If you know what is good for you, stay away from Grays Harbor! Elma especially, the drugs are rampant here, the crime rate is outrageous! The town of elma is primarily a younger population..I would say the average is early to mid 30's. people here are lazy and uneducated. The domestic violence is a huge problem. If you have children there is NOTHING for them to do. There is nothing to do for adults either unless you want to hang out at the bowling alley and get drunk...there are a couple decent restraunts...Top Wok is good and El Ranchon isn't bad...those are your options unless you want to drive a half hour or 45 mins to either Aberdeen or Olympia. There are no amenities here at all. The cost of living is rediculous, and for what? oh and jobs...there aren't any! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Read More

Centrally Located - 6/10/2007
Elma is centrally located between the state capitol Olympia, WA and the Cities of MOntesano and Aberdeen. It is also only 80 miles from Seattle and Ocean Shores. Elma is not in a tsunami zone and many of the homes are early 1900's. There is alot of property for sale and lease for development. I personally would like to see business come and invest here. But beware, residents like the small town feeling and huge change could bring stark resistance to economic growth. There is public transportation to all of the cities I mentioned above, and by the way the scenery is BEAUTIFUL! Forests, mountains, lakes and rivers, open spaces, no traffic, its a great place to Read More
