PNW Paradise. - 2/9/2023
I’ve been living in North Bend for almost 3 years and adore this place. Great place for outdoor recreation and an inspiring place for creatives. Home to numerous filming locations from the TV show Twin Peaks, the town also offers great food, a fantastic brewery, and many outstanding parks with views of the majestic Mt.Si. A bit pricey with housing being so close to Seattle, but this town makes up for it with everything else it has to offer. Highly recommend for visiting or planting your roots. Read More

Democrats ruined North Bend for everyone - 4/20/2021
Tech democrats packed into million dollar cheaply built homes like so many sardines. Homes not affordable to locals, just transplants. The young adults live with their parents, even though they earn what should be a living wage. The democrats are scooping up what were once fairly priced homes and land after escaping the garbage they created down South, selling them for huge money, and coming here, inflating land and home prices, driving out locals with the economy they created and the inflation they created. No hope for our locally bred young adults buying their first home. Thanks, idiot democrats. You putrefy everything you come into contact with. Leave.

Snow/Rain Amounts are off - 7/10/2014
The city of North Bend does not typically receive 60" of snow a year. Nor do we get over 100+" of rain.

In downtown we get around 60" of rain per year, and about 13" of that falls as snow. You may get a little more than that if you live in the hills around the town, but not to the extent that the climate category is reporting here.

I suspect the cause for this discrepancy is that, if I recall correctly, one of the weather stations out east a few miles as well as up on a mountain side, which of course lends you to having more rain/snow than what you have Read More

Great place to live if you have lots of money... - 10/24/2008
Its beautiful here, the mountain right behind you, and in fall its gorgeous. But the views are just about the only good thing, unless that is if you are wealthy. The cost of houses and land here is outrageous. The only place to shop is either at the local Safeway, or the factory outlet stores, which consist of Nike, Coach and other high priced retailers. Food and other necessities for life are extremly expensive, you have to commute all the way to Issaquah or Seattle if you want to find a Walmart or Target.

There is also absolutely nothing to do here, there is of course the falls, but once you have seen that once there really isn't a need to go back. With only one movie theater (meaning only one screen) that shows only on Sundays at 2 and 5pm you are stuck staying at home. Which would be all well and good if you could afford to travel an hour or so when ever you feel like being around civilization.

I lived in North Bend for over 15 years, from 1990 to 2005. It is a lovely, friendly, quaint town. It's absolutely beautiful and the scenery is unbeatable. Mt Si just about sits in the middle of the place and is majestic year around. The access to I-90 makes it a perfect place to live and commute into Seattle to work, which I did for all my time there. It's also the last town before Snoqualmie Pass so you feel like you are really out of the city. The weather is beautiful for most of the summer and can be clear and cold in the winter, not much snow though, but do be prepared for lots of rain and overcast days. This can be depressing when day after day goes by during the winter months and not even a hint of sun. One winter we had 90 straight days with no sun, honest.
