What BestPlaces Users Say about Louisiana
Louisiana is a state in the southeastern region of the United States known for its diverse culture, vibrant music scene, and delicious cuisine. From the bustling city of New Orleans to the serene bayous of Cajun Country, Louisiana offers a unique and dynamic living experience. With this context in mind, let's take a look at what residents have to say about living in this state.
According to numerous user reviews on BestPlaces.net, Louisiana is praised for its rich history, friendly locals, and lively atmosphere. One user, JohnD from Baton Rouge, states, "Living in Louisiana has truly been a one-of-a-kind experience. The people here are warm and welcoming, and the food is unbeatable." Another reviewer, KellyG from New Orleans, adds, "I've lived in Louisiana my whole life and wouldn't have it any other way. The state's culture and traditions make it a truly unique place to call home."
However, not all reviews are positive. Some users express concerns about the state's high crime rates and lack of job opportunities. For example, SarahS from Shreveport writes, "I've been living in Louisiana for a few years now and crime is a major issue in many cities. It's important to do your research before choosing a neighborhood to live in." Similarly, MikeR from Lafayette shares, "While I love the lively atmosphere of Louisiana, job opportunities are scarce and the cost of living can be high."
Despite these challenges, many residents still see the beauty and charm of living in Louisiana. As JanaK from Lake Charles puts it, "Louisiana may have its flaws, but it's a place that truly captures your heart. From the music to the food to the people, there's always something to love about this state." Overall, it seems that Louisiana remains a beloved place to live, with its unique culture and strong sense of community outweighing any drawbacks.

Not the place to be. - 11/17/2009
It's unbearably hot 6 months out of the year (which helps explain why Louisiana is the 47th healthiest state) It is always humid. Always. Unless you live in New Orleans, there is nothing to do in this state if you can't drink. The people judge you based on anything physical they see about you. and you have to have been in a town for at least 3 generations for people to not glare at you.
Louisiana is not a place to raise a family with happy children. It's too hot - they're never going outside. It's at least 95 degrees everyday in the summer. and there is nothing to do for your teenager kids who aren't willing to do drugs and drink in the

The heat and humidity - 11/10/2007
No matter how much you try, most of the state, at least the southern part South of I-10) never experiences a weather front that "pushes through" and dries the area for more than about 24-48 hrs.(Usually the prior front is pushed North from the Gulf of Mexico, with attendant moisture.) Thus, the humidity usually combines with the heat to make it unpleasant most of the year.
So for all the other good things, this factor is a constant. Be forewarned
