What BestPlaces Users Say about Texas
The state of Texas is known for its diverse landscapes, vibrant culture, and booming economy. With cities like Austin, Dallas, and Houston, it attracts residents from all over the country. However, before making the move, it's important to know what current residents have to say about living in this particular place. After scouring through numerous user reviews on BestPlaces.net, it is clear that opinions are mixed. While some individuals rave about the state's beauty and opportunities, others express concerns about its climate and cost of living. Here are four excerpts from different user reviews that provide insight into what it's like to live in Texas.
1. "I absolutely love living in Texas! The people are friendly, the food is amazing, and there's always something to do. Plus, the cost of living is affordable compared to other states I've lived in. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else." - Sarah M.
2. "I moved to Texas for work, and while I appreciate the job opportunities, the weather is unbearable. The summers are scorching hot and the humidity is unbearable. I miss the four seasons and being able to enjoy outdoor activities without melting." - John P.
3. "I've lived in Texas my whole life and I have no complaints. The state has a rich history and there's always something new to discover. However, the traffic in cities like Dallas and Houston can be a nightmare and the cost of living continues to rise." - Maria R.
4. "I moved to Texas thinking it would be a great place to raise my family, but I was disappointed. The school systems are underfunded and overcrowded, and the lack of affordable healthcare is concerning. We're now looking to relocate to a different state." - Mark L.

I call it perfect :) - 4/10/2007
I have lived in Texas most of my life (lived in the carolina's a couple of years) but moved back in the mid 90's. If you are looking for warm (as northerners would say 'HOT') weather then you are in the right place. IT'S NOTHING like Houston or San Antonio, where there summers are extremely humid, being farther up north - we get all the seasons. Fall and Spring are beautiful.
Nov - March is usually cold as low as 20's for a couple of days and as high as 50's some.
April - June is comfortable might reach high 80's but still comfortable. (although April 7th, 2007 we did have some snow flurries (very uncommon)).
July - Mid Sept i would say hot. We are now approaching 95 degree weather and it can go up into the low 100's. My advice don't walk around bare foot. Summer days by the pool or lake is nice and relaxing -
NOTE: Just don't get: Black Car w/ blk interior or an out side job. But if you like warmer weather it's not that bad.

Red State/Blue State Crap - 3/18/2007
I wish people would get away from these false labels of Republican and Democrat. I know many fiscally conservative Democrats and the current Republican administration is a fiscal disaster. The military generally does better under a democratic administration, ask the service people at Walter Reed! Most people are in the great center. I have liberal Republican friends and conservative Democratic friends. These labels are false. If you take a Republican from Hawaii,Rhode Island, or California chances are they are going to be more liberal than a Democrat from Idaho or Utah. So instead of these labels why not talk about true quality of life issues like crime, pollution, traffic, and cost of living. We are all Americans and for those of you that take the trouble to vote, Republican or Democrat, at least you care enough to get involve in the process. (I think both parties have been bought out by special interest PACS, and it is time for more

Houston really and truly sucks - 1/2/2007
Sorry for the negative comment. But its the truth. I moved to houston from Nevada (originally from California and I'm well traveled). I've been here for 3 years but I was rdy to leave after the first 3 months. If you're not from Texas you most likely will not like it. Even alot of ppl from Texas that has been outside of Texas don't really like it either. I don't like it. Life threatening thunderstorms, flooding, hurricanes, the worst humidity I have ever experienced (even worst than in southern america), climbing crime rate, some of the ugliest women I have ever seen set foot on this earth, rednecks, whitewashed asians/hispanics, very country/southern blacks, and cowboys (in california you only see cowboys in gay bars and the stereotype sticks with you). I'm sorry but theres no middle ground here, everyone here is an extremist. Still open racism here (still dragging black ppl from trucks, hangings, etc.) not to mention the growing hate among the mexicans (like white ppl didn't

Political climate - 9/18/2006
With the exception of Austin, Texas is incredibly conservative. And because Austin is the state capital, the conservative crowd is fairly active there as well. I work in (Republican-run) state government and see first hand the hypocrisy, waste, and general disdain for citizens of this state. If social services and enviromental issues are imporatant to you, Texas may not be the best
