My family has lived in Anchorage for a year. A YEAR TOO LONG!!
This city seems to be a magnent for all the people who couldnt get along in the "real world". The people here are RUDE, and even at times SCARY. Ive had complete strangers threaten me for not moving my shopping cart far enough out of the way in the grocery line, and elderly women scream obscenities at me while Im dropping off my movies at the rental place. Myself and two teenage sons stopped to help an old man who was trying to push his stalled truck out of traffic. Not one other car stopped to help. I wish I could say these are exceptions, however Ive also had to have law enforcement out to my home because the neighbors are out in the street screaming and threating my small children. (In one of the most affluent neighborhoods in town, we arent talking the "wrong side of the tracks" here.) On top of all this, Anchorage seems to have the most crime of any city/town Ive lived in. Shootings at the shopping mall.......what a miserable place to live!
