step into the Asheville zone

Imagine stepping into an alternate place that seems nothing like the sterile cities you've seen before, with their Starbucks on every corner and rectangular skyscapers blocking the sun---instead, you see an angel painted white standing so still on a street corner, you swear she isn't a real person. There is a restaurant from almost every culture in the world. Art abounds. Bohemians flash by looking relaxed and unstressed. There are endless opportunities to get massaged or acupunctured, or to take a relaxing hike. You're in a laid back mid-sized city in the Blue Ridge Mountains called Asheville; and not only is it beautiful, it is warm and welcoming. Tourism is key here; and touring Asheville is worth the travel time. One rule: Don't try to rush through---just take it easy and enjoy.
