You should explore the Bolingbrook where I live. It is rich with open space. The Park District alone consists of over 1,000 acres of open space. That space includes Hidden Oaks Nature Center with a LEED Platinum certified building home to year-round outdoor nature programs. Adjacent to the Nature Center is Hidden Lakes, an area of four fishing ponds, picnic areas, a walking/biking trail, and wildlife. The complex adjoins James Boan Woods, Will County Forest Preserve, Whalon Lake, and the sixteen miles of trails in Bolingbrook connect to the broader trail system in the area. There are approximately 50 park sites with various play features including Gateway Wetlands on the east side.
