I am an African-American female who is also Jewish. I date interracially. Charlotte is not as progressive as they would like people to think that they are.

Insofar as interracial dating goes, Charlotte is still in the pre-Civil War mentality. They still call "outsiders" Yankees and Northerners. I know what you are thinking; didn't the Civil War end in 1865???

I have not let it influence my dating preference, but I will definitely NOT make Charlotte my home, It is a country, small town place filled with people with small minds. Move anywhere but here. The New South is still the Old South.

Hello are you still living here? I'm Hebrew-Jewish and female African/Native American it's very hard to find people here that are willing to be diverse in their minds. As a Charlottean I came back home from the military to so I could go to school. Now I'm done and I'm starting to feel done with my town. Your right dating here is not the easiest. I've had stares but the men act afraid to approach me. Unless they're so blatant that they want it to be known they just want to get into my pants.
