Review of Charlotte, North Carolina

Thinking of Relocating
Star Rating - 1/14/2007
I am a single, African-American female professional with no children and I have been living in ABQ for 9 years and I am ready for a change. I appreciate the mild climate (hot, dry summers, definitely tolerable to very little or no snow most winters), but I do not appreciate the culture here, which is not conducive to the advancement of African-Americans. People often cite Albuquerque for it's varied diversity, but that is simply not true.

For that reason, I've been doing my research to find a place to relocate and settle down and it seems as though Charlotte, NC would be a good place to go. (if anyone is searching for a wealth of information, wikipedia.com if an excellent resource). Would anyone be so kind as to provide information on what the healthcare field there is like as far as nursing opportunities?

Also, I am looking to rent an apt. and maybe purchase a home after a year if I want to stay. Where are the best places to live in and around Charlotte? What are the more bustling places and where would the more quiet places/suburbs be? Thanks in advance for your info.
