Review of Charlotte, North Carolina

Relocating to Charlotte from Maryland
Star Rating - 6/21/2006
I am a 32-year old African American single mom who is seriously considering relocating to the Charlotte, NC area by the end of the summer and was wondering if anyone can give me some ideas of some nice, affordable places to live-either in Charlotte or not far from Charlotte. I plan on renting for at least the first year and then I will most likely look into purchasing a home. I just came back from a friend's wedding in Charlotte and absolutely loved the city. Originally, I contemplated relocating to the Atlanta area, but that was quickly put on the "back burner" once I visited Charlotte. Any information regarding housing (apartments), employment, cost of living, racial diversity, etc. would be most helpful and appreciated.
