Being located in the piedmont area of North Carolina, Charlotte is centrally located between the Atlantic coast and the Blue Ridge Mountains. So a trip to the beach or mountains is less that a few hours away. But Charlotte, has many parks, lakes, and other public recreational areas right in the city and county. Additionally, professional sports are available with the Carolina Panthers NFL Football and Charlotte Bobcats NBA Basketball.
