My family and I live in Florida,3+ years now, in the Sarasota and Charlotte counties.
I absolutely regret moving here to be near my mother and family members.

We moved here from California (Bay area)to excape the very expensive rent and utilities and bad luck with my husband finding a stable, reliable blue collar job. Most of his jobs were salary and had him work 7 days/week, night and day and breaking labor laws and no one seemed to care.

We are veterans, and have we lived and worked(civilian)in many places.

The best place would be Washington state(Seattle/Tacoma areas). We lived there for 10 years. Mild weather all year round and never had to use a shovel in the winter. The air is always fresh and the mountains and vegetation is beautiful(The Emerald State). washington is industrial, productive, and progressive. Lots of jobs for the blue collar worker in lots of foods/meats/bakery production and assembly lines producing all kinds of items. A lot of major brand wharehouse distribution to the world. Even housekeeping jobs pay well - $13.00/hour including travel time to start, with company car and phone!!!!! The cost of living is stable and offers a qualilty of life for families and so much better in comparison to Florida. My husband and I made $6,000 together per month working blue collar and I regret moving from there back then....How stupid of me to think we would have it good relocating to California!!!!!!!

Florida is extremely humid and hot. Mosquitos and red ants everywhere - Make sure you have your lawn sprayed $$$ and don't work outdoors! It's like living in a sauna..... Forget about makeup and hair ladies!!!! Constipation...drink your fluids!! We have had trouble finding any jobs. All mostly low paying jobs with NOOOO benefits in elderly care, in air conditioning, lawn care, housekeeping(averaging $5-9/hour), seasonal or PT cashier, some labor wharehouse for $8-$12/hour, and extremely low paying hospitality/service jobs ($2-$6/hour). No production, assembly, manufacturing, going on anywhere. A lot of the jobs that do exist here are taken by the retired looking to make a little extra money.......they are more dependable as they do not have kids and don't do much! There are a lot of old people and many are not nice; They are paranoid about us younger people. They are self pittied, and think the rest of us all don't deserve anything better for our families. The rich retired are haters, are prudent, have proven to be p
