Mistaken Assumptions About Florida

As a native South Floridian, the first thing I feel compelled to tell people is that we AREN'T all rude or unfriendly and there are just as many things to love about Florida as there are to disparage. You can find just about anything you're looking for, short of mountains perhaps (snow skiing and sledding are probably out, too). I happen to love the sound of the breeze blowing through the palm fronds outside my windows, the cicadas and and the furious, pounding thunderstorms that roll in every afternoon in the summertime. Our winters are legendary and the envy of so many who are stuck up north during those months. If you aren't the beach/palm tree type, then you might find it's more to your liking in Central or North Florida, which boasts rolling hills and a more countrified, small town atmosphere. Drive around and decide for yourself. We're friendly and we don't bite. :)
