Hot and humid

I've lived here most of my life, and the images of Florida being the perfect hot, perfect humidity, etc, are completely false.
Our seasons consist of Summer, Summer, Summer, and Summer. Our weather consists of rain, rain, and more rain. When it's not raining, it's extremely humid and uncomfortable.
I have friends from Texas who say that Florida is hotter at 80 degrees than Texas is at over 100 degrees.
Climate here is a major turn off for me.
