Review of Flower Mound, Texas

Conservative politics, active voters
Star Rating - 5/9/2006
Flower Mound is one of the most conservative communities in one of the most conservative counties (Denton) in perhaps the most conservative major metropolitan area in the country. The area was home to former U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey for two decades. The GOP primary is the de facto election, since few Democrats choose to run.

Local politics are much more interesting. Rural areas of the county are increasingly being coveted by homebuilders and commercial developers, which means there's an ever-present battle between developers and those who want to preserve a quieter life in the country.
