Just curious - did you decide to move there? If so, how did you like it? We’re headed there next month.

I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to move to Frisco. There are so many things wrong with it I wouldn't even know where to start. well, first of all, you won't get the best schools with that price range. Think onwards of 450K. Currently the "best" (and I use that term loosely) high school houses kids that consider their peers ghetto for living in a 350k house. And where do you think kids get that kind of attitude? You guessed it, their parents, who judge people by the size of their homes, what vehicle they drive, or what church you go to-and you better pick the right one. You will be at a HUGE disadvantage moving from Cali-I wouldnt even tell anybody if I were you, because whatever your views on the world are, you will automatically be considered a liberal hippie. Frisco has "exemplary" elementary schools in the state of Texas, however Texas has one of the worst school systems in the country, that's not saying much. You want to talk about bullying? Check out the response from poster on 9/18/2011...while trying to disprove the bullying, he only shows proof of it. He says, and I quote "I expect all children are prone to treat any new and different children as outsiders initially....." AND THAT'S PUTTING IT MILDLY. I have never ever taken the time, nor have I ever cared enough to write reviews, on sites like this or any other, but I was on it looking for a new, ANY new place my family and I can move to. I've lived all over this country, so any one of the places Ive already been will do. I just saw this and though to myself "I should really warn these people" just to try to save you the regret later on. If it's sports your're interested in, look no further, as that's the only thing that matters to people here. The FFL is something everybody in town joins, but it's so serious that the coaches of the 5 year old football players scream and yell and swear at the kids-it's truly insane. There are no fine arts at all, but maybe that doesnt matter to you anyway. I could go on for days, but I'll leave it at this-if you and your family are phony, Baptist christians, tea party republicans, and your idea of fun is to step on other human beings, then this is the place for you. I can guarantee you that your kids will be absolutely miserable, and in the end will only pick up bad habits from these horrible people here. Frisco is truly the perfect example of why the rest of the country hates Texans. You should at the very least consider Dallas, but judging by your home budget, I think you're priced out of it because it requires private school. You can get a pretty big home in Frisco, but they are made poorly, and the same rules that apply to real estate all over the world apply to Frisco as well-there's a very good reason real estate is so cheap-location location location. The summers are absolutely unbearable. Just this year the temps were in the triple digits for over 70 days straight, and the homes arent built well enough to withstand that kind of heat. Always in a drought as well-it's predicted that Texas will be in a drought for at least the next 5 years. also, your property tax on a 225k house will be 4500 a year. Also dont pick Frisco is you have employment in Dallas, or anywhere outside of Frisco as the traffic is an absolute nightmare. Even though it's close, your're looking at about an hour and a half each way. If I could even think of one positive thing, it's that Frisco has an IKEA, and that's truly irrelevant to life. Oh yes, crime is low-but the amount of pedophiles living in Frisco is off the charts-and that's only the registered ones. It's a well known fact that pedo's specifically live in area's where other crime is low, because the townspeople tend to feel a bit too comfortable, and don't pay attention-which is exactly what's going on here. A very false sense of security. The fact is, just over 10 years ago Frisco didnt even exist-it was nothing but a one horse town, mostly just farmland. The good ol boy mindset still remains today. Racism and classism are the only real things here-the rest is just sad and phony. I'm actually embarrassed for these people. I hope you reconsider your move. Seriously.

The negative posts really sadden me. We moved to Frisco, a few months ago from California. We heard nothing by great things about this area. We are in norh Frisco and zoned for Prosper ISD. We could not be happier. The school has been so welcoming to my family and I, my son is 5 as well. My neighborhood has been amazingly kind and inviting. We paid $300,000 for a beautiful 3500 square foot new home, and are more happy everyday. We put ourselves out there by, volunteering at school, soccer, etc. We enjoy Frisco and I am sure you will too. Come out for a visit and check it all out. There are far more post about the positive things then the negative. You be the judge. :) good luck!!
