Hello,
My husband and I are looking to relocate to the South. I've lived in Columbus, Ohio my entire life and my husband has lived here most of his life except when he was in the military. One of the places we are looking at is South Carolina. I guess I would like to know if anyone has any advise for us about moving to South Carolina. North Carolina is another place were looking at. Also Texas, a few others so if anyone has any advice on another southern state please share. My husband is a electrical apprentice. I'm going to school to be a Nurse. We have 4 kids so we were willing to rent before we buy but want to own a home. We would like to be outside the city but close enough to get to what we need to. Maybe buy some land eventually. Also were a mixed race family. I guess I'm a little nervous, all I know about how the South deals with us would be what I see on TV-and the not so warm welcome some of my family who is from the south gave my husband (not to offend any Southerners) but I loved the experience I've had on vacations and my husband is ready to go. I know you have prejudice anywhere but seriously I want to know what anyone knows or thinks about that particular aspect of it. Also the job situation, schools. Anything else you want to add.
