I see many negative comments and opinions about Jax. I have been here for 17yrs after living in many different major cities like LA, Houston, Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Raleigh and Ft. Lauderdale to name a few. I love my neighborhood, I live in a quaint historic distric and enjoy the achitecture and beautiful landscape. My neighbors are great and the people in general are friendly. The beach is close, there are several museums and points of interest in the region. Sure, it has it's bad side of town and bad elements, justike any other city. My sense is...it is what you make it. My family followed me to North Florida years ago and all are happy with their quality of life and careers. The education system nees some work, but my kids had great experiences in the public school system and have moved on to college with success. Don't just take the word of naysayers. As an example, I hated Raleigh, NC. It was all based on a horrible work experience during that time. My wifed loved Raleigh, but then again she was stay at home and enjoyed the city's outstanding offerings. Jax has much to offer from professional sports to reasonable cost of living. The St. Johns river, the Beach, St. AAugustine is a 45 min. drive, excellent colleges and college sports in the area, major Check it oout for yourself, don't take a strangers word for it.
