Living in La Junta

I've lived here a lil' over 2 years. The people are very friendly, and the cost of living is low. However, the choices for a lot of things are very minimal. Only 2 grocery stores, Safeway and Walmart. Our Walmart is always out of stock of a lot if things, and Safeway, you couldn't pay me to shop there! I've always felt that their stuff is overpriced, and the dairy products SUCK! Very little shelf life and always a lot more than any other store! There's really only 2 restaurants worth eating at and the Mexican food here is BARFOLA!!! The police here are great! Love them to pieces! The hospital and choices of health providers are horrendous! After working in the medical field for 30 years, I know what to look for in medical providers, and the ones here aren't worth wasting your time seeing. All of my doctors are in Pueblo, and believe me, it's worth the drive to see them! So far, I've seen very little in the way of crime. It is quiet, peaceful and very laid back, and as I've said, the people here are very friendly.
