Agree with Maggie About Falwell Country

I've lived in Lynchburg for seven years and regret moving here for many reasons. If one is single (regardless of the reason), without children, other than a Southern Baptist, other than conservative Republican, and 'not from here,' did not graduate from Virginia Tech, enjoy diversity, cultural events (other than Falwell's) this is NOT the place for you. For years LBG bragged about the 'low cost of living' which might have been true at one time. However the lack of cultural diversity, religous and ethnic intolerance, lack of jobs, low pay scale (mostly minimum wage and a 'good job' pays less than $25K a year), clanishness and cliques, and being subjected to forever being the 'ultimate outsider' makes Lynchburg undesireable. This year, thank goodness I am out of here!
