There is nothing in Maryland you couldn't find in other states with friendlier people, lower taxes, lower crime, prettier cities and more scenic areas overall. People here are amazingly provincial, they act as if you're supposed to be impressed by Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay. Why ? Endless cookie cutter tract housing, terrible traffic, filthy neighborhoods. I just never could get why people made such a big deal about living here. The accent is the weirdest thing I've ever heard, like someone trying to talk with a mouthful of marbles. Everyone was so arrogant and self-impressed. I'm out of here at the end of the year anyway. The South has nicer people and weather and the west has nicer scenery. Avoid Maryland at all costs, the most important ones being your mental and physical well being !
