Great but Struggling

I was born and raised in Michigan. I really love it. I love the outdoors, the beauty, the seasons, and even the snow! I know, but someone has to like it!! Our economy is terrible. Everything gets more expensive, but wages and jobs get worse and worse. I suppose this is true for nearly every place in the US right now, but it's particularly awful here in Michigan. They are building too many houses, and how many of them are really affordable? They are destroying the wildlife to build houses people can't afford to buy or keep. I live in Gregory, and just hope that no one wants to move there! Development is great, but not at the cost of our natural resources. I hope my kids still have trees to look at when they grow up. People need to quit wanting to move out into the country and destroy it.
I hope Michigan can turn around soon, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen for a while. Health care is expensive, jobs are scarce, and housing is ridiculous. Some day Michigan will be back on its feet, but I don't think it will be in the very near future.
