Traverse City is a lovely place to visit and to live. The state is doing poorly at present and unemployment is high. What jobs that are available are mainly minimum wage jobs. That being said, if you are retired or self employed, etc .. the Traverse City area has much to offer in every season! The people, too, are very friendly and quality of life, provided money is
not an issue, is very good. We have one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation as well, this being our major employer in the region. The area is very scenic and outlying to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The bays offer a view of sailboats even to those who don't have their sea legs. Come and see this town, it's worth a trip.
