Not kidding about LONG, hard winters; great parks

It gets so cold and lasts so long!! Be prepared for major indoor time from Octoberish until Aprilish. Not kidding. And if you have kids... You aren't supposed to even take them outside if it's below zero (with windchill), which happens more often than I like to think about.
Weather aside; nice city. Great parks. They say there is a park within walking distance of every residential home in Minneapolis. I believe it. Smart city planning about street names and layout and addresses and such. Lots of sidewalks.
