City of Lakes

I moved here from Houston, Texas and thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Most everything about the Twin Cities (both Minneapolis & Saint Paul) is fantastic. (Except the weather in January and February)
You can find great neighborhoods (I live a block from Lake Harriet in Mpls. and walk/run/ski around it nearly everyday) great schools (more colleges/schools per capita than any other area), housing, jobs (lots of Fortune 500 companies), educated, environmentally minded people, health care (U. of M., Mayo clinic is in Rochester, Hazelden nearby), arts and theatre (here we exceed, too numerous to mention) music, jazz (The Dakota is world renownwed) plus lots of free things like great parks, libraries, concerts, improv shows, the rose garden-peace park, Roberts Bird Sanctuary, puppet theatres, ("Heart of the Beast"), parades ("The Holidazzle"). Read the Minneapolis Tribune, Variety section, to keep current.
My only draw back is the weather in January and February. I'm still trying to find a way to deal with that. I save my vacation for those winter months and escape to (Manzonillo) Mexico, (Charlestton/Sullivan;s Isalnd), South Carolina, and Hawaii (big Island or Mauii) whenever possible.
