Olympia - not my idea of a good time

It seems to me this entire area is behind the times in just about everything. The people don't seem to be very friendly - very reserved and unfriendly for the most part. The weather is torture. The lack of sun, the cold temps, and the extremely short summer have me wanting to move to a warmer climate. Not very many things for kids to do here. For the capital, it is a pretty limited city. I wish we had checked it out more thoroughly before we moved here. Housing has gone up, contractors for general repairs seem to be price gouging in a big way. Grocery prices have risen. The area is getting crowded. The people I've seen here are the most serious people I've ever met in my life - not much humor going on in Olympia...
