Omaha Property Taxes Too High

Don't move to Nebraska. The politicians, city officials, and rich business owners receive preferential tax rates while the rest of the taxpayers are hit hard. Two years ago, the County hit me with a 50% property tax increase and this year again with a 30% tax increase..! Why? The County Assessor only received a 3% increase over six years. These rate hikes only make sense when factoring in the misuse of power in government. Omaha already has one of the highest property tax percentages in the nation and it's only a matter of time when their economic and political policies catch up.
I would suggest moving to Iowa where the taxes are lower and less burdensome. I also buy my gas in Iowa because their gas tax is lower, which translates to roughly 10 percent cheaper gas per gallon. It's also a nice place to raise a family, as I know many professionals who commute in the same amount of time it would take to drive from Omaha's suburbs.
Iowa ALSO has more industry, better landscape, excellent schools, and nice people.
Sorry Omaha.
